Vineyards at Dodon






Friday September 3, 2021 the Bailliage of Greater Washington will be having an casual, elegant and delicious luncheon and wine tasting at the Vineyards at Dodon in Davidson, Maryland.  We will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a tour of the vineyard (weather permitting) and of the wine room.  Our luncheon will be held in a rain-protected outdoor pavilion with beautiful views of the countryside. Not only will we be tasting delicious wines produced at the vineyard but will have passed hors d’oeuvres as part of our three-course luncheon catered by Erik Foxx of The Polished Foxx.  George Williams of the Ugly Pig is creating a special artisanal charcuterie grazing “table” for us as well.  Between Chef Foxx, George Williams of the Ugly Pig, the wines of Dodon. and the beautiful vistas, we will enjoy an embarrassment of riches for sure.

The Bailliage of Greater Washington had been to the Vineyards at Dodon once before, in 2015.  If you would like to read about that delightful event, please click here. In 2021, we are returning to enjoy something different.  This time we will be able to indulge in vertical tastings of Dodon’s Chardonnay as well as their South Slope (which is a blend of 66% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon).  Tom Croghan, winemaker, and co-owner will be leading our tasting and we “Lunch and Discover.”

Chef Erik Foxx of The Polished Foxx will also be on hand as we indulge in a delicious 3-course luncheon.  Although George Williams of the Ugly Pig in Annapolis will not be there in person, we are pleased that master butcher Marc Pauvert will be on hand to answer any of your questions about the charcuterie we will enjoy during the reception.

As in our most recent in-person event at Lansdowne, all attendees must confirm that they are fully vaccinated, have not traveled to a COVID-19 “hot spot” in the last 14 days, and do not have any COVID or flu-like symptoms. Members of the Bailliage of Greater Washington can confirm their vaccinated status during the registration process on our website at https://laChaineDC.com.  All others must call Judy Mazza at 301-469-0352 to register for this event, and during that call, confirm their vaccinated status.
