Per Walter Moers “Wine is drinkable sunlight. It’s the most glorious summer’s day imaginable, captured in a bottle”.

Time to celebrate the beginning of summer with friends and wine! Wear your favorite casual summer colors and join us at the micro-restaurant in Creekside – Avila Flavors and Experiences (www.avilaexperiences.com).

Avila has created a custom tasting menu paired with wines from the Chaîne cellar that will make this a memorable kick-off to summer as you share your summer travel plans with each other.  You will be able to experience how the same wine pairs with different tasting dishes.

Menu:

Reception: Jean-Pierre Marniquet Champagne Tradition Brut paired with appetizers: Smoked Salmon & Caviar Canapes

First wine pairing is a 2014 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Bourgogne Chardonnay, Burgundy, France to be enjoyed with:

     – 1st tasting: Chilean Seabass served over braised leeks and brown-seed rice medley. This delicate fish will be topped with a chardonnay sauce.

     – 2nd tasting: Main Crab Cakes made in house from North Atlantic Jonah Crab lump and topped with a creamy crab sauce.

Second wine pairing is a 2005 Camille Giroud Les Cents Vignes Beaune Premier Cru, France to be enjoyed with:

     – 1st tasting: Kentucky Bourbon Pork Ribeye served over golden potato and topped with a bourbon sauce.

     – 2nd tasting: Beets-Goat Cheese Tart. Freshly baked puff pastry topped with organic beets, spinach, and goat cheese from a local farm.

Third wine pairing is a 2005 Chateau Lagrange (St. Julien), Red Bourdeaux Blend to be enjoyed with Wagyu Picanha Steak served over a bed of garlic sautéed spinach.

We will end the evening with a Bellini Vin Santo paired with a Belgian Chocolate Profiterole.  Choux pastry puffs filled with Belgian chocolate cream and topped with dark chocolate ganache.

Lacs et des Bois Members: $400 couple / $200 single

Guests/Non-Chaîne Members: $440 couple / $220 single

Please register and pay early as this event is limited to 20 people due to space limitations.  Please note RSVPing will not ensure your place at the event. The first 20 people to pay will have confirmed seating. Deadline to register and pay is May 16th.

Registration / Payment: Please reply to this invite if you can participate and then send in your payment using the Venmo app to @Nancy-Jordan-29 with a note the payment is for the May dinner. Please send an email to woodlandschaine@gmail.com if you have any problems using the app for payment or would like to pay via check.
