It’s a centuries-old tradition in many winegrowing regions around the world for an entire village to come together to help with the annual harvest. Children are often excused from school for a week or two as an ‘all hands-on deck philosophy’ permeates these small rural communities during the critical, and sometimes chaotic month or two it takes to bring in the year’s bounty. As most family farms have little to offer in return, it is customary for them to host these makeshift laborers for a hearty meal (always accompanied by gratuitous servings of local libations) at the end of the work day.
In this spirit, on Sunday, August 25, we will partake in a Mondiale experience, “Harvest Dinner…A Night at the Vineyard” at Beneduce Vineyards in Pittstown, NJ. The event will be hosted by our Mike Beneduce, our Vice Echanson. In 2010, Mike graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cornell University with dual degrees in Plant Sciences and Viticulture/Enology. He has served as Chairman of the Garden State Winegrowers Association and continues to push for an increase in the quality of wine made in New Jersey. In 2017, Mike was named Edible Jersey’s Beverage Artisan of the Year. In the true Mondiale spirit, “Harvest Dinner…A Night at the Vineyard” will combine insightful wine education, a stellar selection of wines along with a memorable dinner experience.
Attire is vineyard chic/smart casual with Chaine decorations (ladies, flats are recommended for the vineyard tour portion of the evening). The all-inclusive per person price for Mondiale members is $110 per person. Chaine members and companion is $125 per person. Guests are $135 per person.
