Supper or Supper Dance Similar to but less formal than a dinner or dinner dance, suppers call for lighter menus and a more relaxed atmosphere. Later, lighter and usually less formal, though not necessarily, they are great for following another event such as the theater, a concert, movie, athletic event, etc. Like a dinner event, suppers may be white or black tie or semiformal. Suppers usually begin around 10:00 P.M. and last until midnight or later.
