On June 7, 2000, several hundred members of the Chaîne met in Hawaii for the annual National Chapitre and the celebration of the Chaîne’s 40th birthday in this country. What they found was a super-charged group from the Hawaiian bailliages that had gone completely overboard to make our four days unforgettable.

 Legions of qualified people met monthly, then weekly, and—finally—daily, to produce a series of exciting activities that impressed even the most experienced of Chaîne travelers.  




Ioalani Palace Tour

 A tour of the Bishop Museum and the Iolani Palace on the opening day of the Chapitre, provided an opportunity to learn about the Polynesian history of Hawaii. Three floors of the museum loaded with exciting and interesting of exhibits put you right alongside those stalwart peoples who took huge gambles by paddling across a 2,000 mile expanse of unknown ocean from 350–450 B.C. to put down new  roots.
