“It’s our common interest in food that cements us together,” concluded Dean Neal Van Alfen of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, U.C. Davis, in his welcome to members of the Chaîne who traveled to Davis, California, the first weekend in April to learn about the college’s programs in the fields of enology and viticulture and food science and technology. The weekend, coordinated by Chancelier National Claes Andersen with the assistance of Sacramento Bailli Dr. Phil Levy and U.C. Davis Assistant Dean of College Relations Michael Campbell, was hosted by the Hyatt Regency Sacramento, at which the opening event, a spectacular Kaiseki dinner, took place. Continued
