Gastronome magazine is the official publication of the U.S. chapter of Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs. Its mission is to chronicle the activities of the Chaîne at all levels from the local chapter to regional, national and even international events. The achievements of individual members are equally important, and Gastronome welcomes story ideas about all members. Feature stories should be approved in advance and must be accompanied by professional-grade, high-resolution digital photographs.
Deadlines:
Volume 1 – September 1
Volume 2 – January 15
Volume 3 – May 1
Photographs:
Every story must be accompanied by at least 10 digital photographs of the highest resolution, largest size possible. RAW files are preferred, and photographs should NOT be altered or corrected in any way. Any necessary corrections will be made by Gastronome. Stories that are not accompanied by photographs or are accompanied by photographs of insufficient resolution will automatically be reduced to a half-page.
Local events:
Events that occur at the local (bailliage) level are generally submitted by a local officer called a vice chargé(e) de presse to his/her regional (provincial) chargé(e) de presse. Stories should be about 450 words and be accompanied by a copy of the event menu as well as approximately 10 digital photographs as described above. Photos should not be reduced in any way from their original size/resolution. Stories should be submitted no later than the next deadline after the event.
Regional events:
It is the duty of the regional chargé(e) de presse to cover all regional events or arrange for someone to do so. Stories about regional events should be about 900 words and must be accompanied by 15-20 high-resolution digital photographs. These stories should be submitted as soon as possible after the event to the chargé(e) de presse national(e). Do not wait for the next deadline.
National events:
It is the duty of the national chargé(e) de presse to cover all national events or arrange for someone to do so. Stories about national events should be about 900-1200 words and must be accompanied by 15-20 high-resolution digital photographs. These stories should be submitted as soon as possible after the event to the chargé(e) de presse national(e). Do not wait for the next deadline.
